![]() Brightness adjustment on the left side of the screen is so much more convenient than on a Kindle!! Oasis's auto-adjusting brightness is terrible (don't have the SE Paperwhite to test but can't imagine it'll be much better).I installed NickelMenu, Koreader, and Plato already (I already use Koreader on my reMarkable 2), it's just fun to tinker with. Kindles are much more limited, and, as small as this is, I love how I can make every book left-aligned instead of justified. Much more customizable font and styling choices. There was some hiccup with OverDrive but the dev team at OverDrive managed to fix it pretty quickly when I contacted them, so kudos to them. As a user of both, I love the fact that they are built-in and don't require either another device to manage (like Libby on my phone) or require some workarounds (like using 3rd party tools to send Pocket articles to Kindle). I'm so used to holding the Oasis one-handed on the side that I never found a comfortable position to hold the Paperwhite, so glad to be back on one-hand hold. Paperwhite feels hazy and the contract isn't as good as Oasis/Libra 2 - yet another reason why I still sometimes preferred Oasis over the Paperwhite, and now Libra 2 over both. ![]() Screen quality is better than Paperwhite, mostly comparable to Oasis.Buttons! They aren't as easy to press as the Oasis's, but maybe that's because they are relatively new and are still a little stiff (my Oasis is like 4 years old)? I got used to it fairly quickly though, or the stiffness just wore off.I didn't get a 3rd gen Oasis because I didn't feel like paying that much for a relatively old ereader that might get replaced any day now. Why two Kindles: I love the warm light on the Paperwhite but miss the buttons on the Oasis, so I sometimes still read on the Oasis during the day. Thought I'd post some impressions coming from two Kindles - Kindle Oasis 2nd gen (no warm light, with ads) and Kindle Paperwhite 2021 (newest generation, kid's edition, no ads) - as well as a reMarkable 2. I got a white Kobo Libra 2 when it went on sale a couple weeks ago on the official website and have been using it for just under 1 week.
